How to Unsilence Calls on iPhone

You should decide whether to put your phone on silent. You didn't simply have it happen to you, and now you're stuck trying to figure out how to undo it. But regrettably, that is the reality for many iPhone owners.
Many customers have been experiencing issues with their iPhone call alert system, including malfunctions and becoming trapped in a maze of convoluted settings. When you keep missing crucial calls, it is annoying and even plain disastrous. Fortunately, you can escape this maze if you take things one step at a time. The incoming calls on your iPhone are silent and not ringing and you don't know why your iPhone has muted calls? We will guide you on how to unsilence calls on your iPhone. Find out why your calls are being muted and solve it to avoid missing critical calls.
How to Unsilence Calls on iPhone
Check the Ring / Silent Switch
It's time to master the fundamentals first if you're just getting started with an iPhone and are still learning how to mute/unmute it. It's really simple to switch an iPhone from ringer to vibrate and vice versa. You can rapidly mute and unmute with its conveniently located mute control. However, because of its location, you may accidentally silence your iPhone.
Make sure the mute switch on the left side of your phone is not in the position where the orange line is visible if you want to unmute your iPhone. If it is, just move it to quiet your iPhone.
Check the Ringer Volume
Check the Ringer volume if your iPhone is in the Ring mode but your calls are still being muted. It's possible that the volume is at zero or extremely low. If your iPhone's settings are set up to allow it, you can usually change the ringer level using the volume buttons.
If not, select Sound & Haptics from the Settings menu on your iPhone.
Check the slider under the Ringer and Alerts setting and make sure it isn’t zero or too low to render the ringer tone inaudible.
Check Do Not Disturb
Check to see if you have DND mode turned off if your iPhone is still in silent mode. Depending on how the setting is configured on your end, DND either mutes calls when your iPhone is locked or always.
To open the Control Center, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen (on iPhones with a notch) or the bottom of the screen (on iPhones without a notch). Now make sure the DND button (represented by a crescent moon) is not activated.
Additionally, check sure that Do Not Disturb is not set to automatically activate. On your iPhone, go to settings and select Do Not Disturb.
Check the DND settings to make sure the Scheduled option is off. Make sure you are aware of the schedule's time if it is on and you want to maintain it that way. You can define additional parameters for it if you wish to maintain this schedule. For instance, if you so want, you may enable the setting for Repeated calls when your phone is in DND mode or allow calls from specific individuals.
Check Silence Unknown Callers
It's possible that some of your calls are being muted but not all of them. Additionally, all of the calls you're missing have one thing in common: none of them came from contacts of yours. In such a case, you must double-check this specific setting. Here's how to unsilence unknown calls on iPhone.
1. Navigate to the phone settings on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and confirm that off is next to Silence Unknown Callers. Tap it to open it if it says on. Next, deactivate the toggle.
Check Bedtime Status
It's possible that even having perfect fundamental settings, your calls are still being muted. And you are baffled as to why. You should double-check a few settings that may be the cause of your call-missing issues. Bedtime Status will be discussed first.
The bedtime status feature in iOS 14 allows you to track your sleep and automatically puts your phone on DND when it's time to go to bed, which mutes your calls. On your iPhone, launch the Health app. Then, from the bottom of the screen, select the "Browse" tab.
Click Sleep by swiping down.
Check your schedule in the sleep settings. To get all the information, choose Full Schedule & Options.
When your phone enters Sleep mode, you may manually turn off DND/Bedtime from the Control Center if you don't want your calls to be muted that day. The Control Center's Bedtime setting won't affect your bedtime alarm; it will only have an impact on DND.
Check Connection with Bluetooth Audio
It's possible that your calls are being muted because they are being sent to a Bluetooth device when you aren't actively listening to it. For instance, if you have Bluetooth earbuds linked to your phone but aren't using them right now, any incoming calls will be received by the gadget rather than your phone.
Open your iPhone settings and go to Bluetooth. Afterward, confirm that no connections are active.
Check Auto Answer Calls
Perhaps the calls aren't so much being silenced by your phone as they are being answered on your behalf. This may be the cause if calls are being unanswered yet no missed calls are being shown.
Go to the iPhone's settings and choose Accessibility.
then select Touch.
Locate and choose the Call Audio Routing option by tapping on it.
You may select Auto-Answer Calls from that menu. Ensure that it is turned off.
Tap on it to open it. If it doesn't say off, then flip the toggle to off.
Check Call Audio Routing
Check your call audio routing settings if you're still experiencing issues with your calls.
Open the Accessibility menu and choose Call Audio Routing. Ensure that Automatic is selected.
Check for Blocked Numbers
Verify that you haven't unintentionally banned calls from a certain number if you're simply missing them. Go to the settings on your iPhone and choose Phone. Enter the Phone settings and choose Blocked Contacts.
Unblock the contact if it's on the list of blocked contacts if you're not receiving calls from it. After tapping Unblock, swipe left on the phone number.
Restart your phone and check to see if there are any outstanding software upgrades if your iPhone is still muting calls (some or all) despite verifying all the settings described above. However, if it doesn't work, you should speak with Apple Support or bring your phone to an Apple Service Center.
